Passed peacefully away through the gates of Heaven on Friday, January 9th, 2015 at St.Patrick's Mercy Home, formerly of Brigus South, in his 85th year, surrounded by his loving family. Reunited at last with his wife Cecilia (January 10, 2008), his parents James and Catherine Hayes; his brothers Edward, Michael and Larry; His sisters Beatrix Whelan Mary Holden, Jessie Smeaton and Marcela Ryall. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his daughters; Josephine (Larry) Walsh, Marie (Sylvester) Hawkins, His son, Philip (Margo). Grandchildren Jennifer (Trevor) Reid, Christopher Walsh and their father Brendan Walsh (Mary Alice), Catherine (Jake), Patrick and Robert Hawkins. Sisters, Josephine (Matt) Mooney and Eleanor (the Late Francis) Ryan: Sister in law: Millie Hayes; Lillian (the late Francis Carey). Brothers in law, Thomas Ryall and Aiden Carey; a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and his family at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, where he resided for the past 5 years, especially his special friends Jim Ring, Rod Powell and Mike Butler. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation to take place Sunday, January 11th from 2-9 pm and Monday, January 12th from 2-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, January 13th at 11 am from Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Cape Broyle. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape R.C. Cemetary, Cape Broyle.
