PHYLLIS NAOMI STRICKLAND
August 5, 1918 – January 10, 2015
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phyllis Strickland announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Centre on January 10th at the age of 96 years. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Albert & Bertha Bennett. She was also predeceased by her husband Wilson (Buzzy) Strickland, her brothers Ben (Mary), Earl (Laura), Albert (Anne) and infant brothers Ralph and Russell, sisters Dollie (Joey) Newell, Bertha (Hal) Smeltzer, Rita (Bill) Edgar, Emeline (Ernie) Pfinder, and Edna Bennett, and brothers-in-law John (Sis) Chaulk, George (Ellen) Chaulk, Garland Strickland, Albert (Ann) Bennett and David Moore and sisters-in-law Lillian (Don) Ross. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Ronald “Butch” (Ruby) Strickland Cavendish NL, Baxter (Dianne) Strickland Port aux Basques, Joseph (Bonita) Strickland Doyles, Robert Strickland Port aux Basques, two granddaughters Mandy (Myles) MacNeil and Melissa (Rocky) Muise, great grandchildren Carly Muise and Logan MacNeil, brother-in-law Frank (Louise) Strickland Ottawa ON, and sister-in-law Dorothy (nee Strickland) Moore St. Johns, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Private visitation took place on Saturday, January 10 from 7-9 pm. Public visitation took place on Sunday, January 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm from East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Monday, January 12, 2 PM, from Wesley United Church, officiated by Rev. Kathleen Anderson. Interment followed at Wesley United Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to the Wesley United Church.
