We regret to announce the passing of Verna (Mae) Boutilier, 94, of Little Pond, on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Florence on Oct. 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Maude (Jessome) MacDonald. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Parish, Florence.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mae had a love of music, and taught herself to play the piano. She loved to have a good laugh. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Daniel Nicholson) and Beverly; sons, Jackie (Dale), Ken, Keith (Joan); grandchildren, Verna (Paul Fraser) Jay, David, Kelly, Dana and Nicole (Matt Cormier); great-grandchildren, Holly, Kelly, Kendra and Cody; special friend Noami and daughter-in-law, Adele.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, John Day Boutilier; infant daughter, Deanna Joan and several sisters and brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
