BOURGEOIS, LÉONA - Léona Bourgeois, 98, of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Friday January 16, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on June 17, 1916 in Barachois, NB, she was the daughter of the late Anselme and Eugénie (Thibodeau) Léger. She is survived by three daughters: Paulette Bourgeois, Jeannine Bourgeois (Ron Somersville) and Linda Bourgeois; two sons: Claude (Pauline) and Joe (Helen); five grandchildren: Corey, Chantal, Michael, Tracy, and Monique; three great-grandchildren: Jayden, Keith, and Ryan; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her husband, Laurie Bourgeois (1974); five sisters: Madeleine, Jeanne, Georgina, Anna and Anita; three brothers: Aurèle, Jean-Baptiste and Evariste.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 9:30 until departure (10:20). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St. George Street, Moncton on Tuesday January 20 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the Frenette Funeral Centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
