LAFOREST-JAMIESON, MARIA - Maria Opal (Dixon) LaForest-Jamieson, born March 14, 1922 passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton on January 15, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (McQuade) Dixon. She was predeceased by her first husband Patrick J. LaForest and an infant son, and her second husband Leigh Jamieson. She is survived by ten children: Raymond of Grand Falls, NB; Patricia O'Neil (Frank Johnson) of Newmarket, NB; Peter (Mavis) of Keswick Ridge, NB; Sandra Hitchcock of Hanwell, NB; Charlene Hanscomb (Perley) of Fredericton, NB; Carolyn Roach of Scotch Lake, NB; Elizabeth LaForest of Toronto, ON; Patrick (Kathy) of Birdton, NB; John (Kim) of Scotch Lake, NB; Paul (Sylvie) of Lincoln, NB and two step-children, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Opal was the last of her siblings.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Tuesday, January 20th from 1 to 3 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20th at 3 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Johnston officiating. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the MS Society would be appreciated by the family. www.oregans.ca For the past year, she was a resident of Paradise Villa, Fredericton.
