It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Audrey O’Neill on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Kathleen (Murphy) Redmond.
Audrey worked for 25 years at the Hudson Bay Company; both in Hamilton, Ont. and Sydney, N.S. She was a quiet and shy lady who loved her grandchildren dearly. Audrey also had a great affection for dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James ‘Sonny’ O’Neill, formerly from Whitney Pier, one daughter, Kathleen, Hamilton, two sons, Ron, Hamilton, Daniel at home, Glace Bay, two grandchildren, James and Jonathan Nixon and two sisters, Anne Stewart, Boston and Ruth Pezzariello, Bedford.
Audrey was predeceased by three sisters, Sarah, Mary, Paula and two brothers, Bernie and Frankie.
Special thanks to Doctors, M. Gallivan and Dr. R. McCormack as well as palliative care and the VON.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. There will be no visitation or funeral mass. Interment will be held at a later date.
