The journey of life for Donald Louis MacPhee began on July 26, 1939 in Antigonish. Surrounded by his loving family and friends Donnie passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2015, at the Cove Guest Home.
Donnie was employed at the Sydney Steele Corporation until his retirement. Better known as “Lutch” to his friends, he spent his younger years as a rink rat. If there was a fiddle concert you could find him, enjoying the music. Donnie was an avid bowler for many years. You could find Donnie at Time Hortons with the boys or watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his spare time Donnie enjoyed many nights of darts.
Donnie was predeceased by his parents Sadie and Billie McPhee, his sister Kay Dickson and brother-in-law Angus Mac Donald.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Anne Mac Donald, Lincoln (Carol), Hughena MacIntyre, Wilma Pyke (Tom), Ray (Janet), and brother-in-law, Paul Dickson.
He leaves behind his wife Linda, three children Brent, Kim (Greg Riley) and Bradley (Debbie). Donnie had 11 amazing grandchildren and two great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews he adored very much.
Visitation for the Late Donnie MacPhee will take place Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Bill Burke officiating.
