It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amelia 'Danno' Baird at the Glace Bay Hospital on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Connington) McIntosh.
Amelia taught at St Anthony’s School and was President for the VON Society. She really enjoyed dancing and walking and was a very caring person who was always there when you needed her.
Danno is survived by her husband and best friend John, brother Clarence 'Toot' (Rita) McIntosh; sisters, Mary (George) Burrage, Teresa (Jack) Byrne, Colleen (late Buddy) Bonner, Shirley (Steve MacDonald) Pemberton; brother-in-law Gordon (Jean) Baird; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Besides her parents, Danno was predeceased by her sisters, Annie Stewart, Jane Stone, brothers Thomas, Johnnie, Angus and Joe.
There is no visitation or funeral service at her request. Interment will take place at a later date at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home, 775 Main St.
