Jeanie “Jean” Seary, age 90, a resident of the Windsor Elms Village, formerly of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with her family by her side. Born on March 22, 1924, in Barrhead, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late John and Jeanie (Townsend) Docherty and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jean was a member of the Royal Air Force, a veteran of the Second World War, and was also a War Bride. Jean is survived by her children, Sonny (Sharon), Rawdon; Heather Harvie (Peter-deceased), Windsor; Dale (Frances), Newport Station; Glenna (Greg) Rehburg, Falmouth; Randy (Valerie), Falmouth; Mike (Diana), Vaughans; Wendy (Moreno) Danieli, Montreal, QC; Tim (Sheila), McLennan, Alta.; Shawn, Halifax; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews in Scotland. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert Lawrence Seary (2010); daughter, Jeanie Lantz (1980); brother, Joseph; sisters, Agnes and Mary Docherty. Visitations was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 23, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, in the Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Garnet Parker officiated. Interment was in the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean were requested to be made to the Palliative Care Unit, (Hants Community Hospital).
