SWINAMER, Wendall William Frederick - Age 78, Newport Station, Hants Co., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born August 15, 1936 in Three Mile Plains, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Johnson) Swinamer. Wendall drove school bus for West Hants/AVRSB for 31 years. He enjoyed darts, camping and crib. Wendall is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Melvina (Hawboldt) Swinamer; sons, Wade (Christine), Jody (Michelle) and Sheldon (Tracey); granddaughters, Nastosha (Michael) and Samantha; and two special great-grandsons, Mason and Wyatt; also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Verna; brothers, Alfred, Roy, Lawrence; sister, Mona; sons, Shannon and Guy in infancy. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, January 24. A funeral service was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 25 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Garnet Parker officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was held Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory of Wendall may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
