DICKSON, ARNOLD R.
1920 - 2015
Arnold Russell Dickson, husband of Alice (Adams) Dickson, passed away at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Monday, January 26, 2015, at the age of 94.
Born in Center Napan on October 11, 1920, he was the son of the late John W. and Janie (Lee) Dickson. He was a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, employed at the former CFB Chatham in both the M.E. (Motorized Equipment) and C.E. (Carpenters & Electricians) Sections. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in Canada with the Canadian Army.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Adams) Dickson, of Moncton; two daughters, Gwen Guenther (Walter), of Miramichi and Beth Dean (Garfield), of Cochrane, AB; one son, Elwin Dickson, (Gwen), of Napan; two step-daughters, Janet Adams, of Moncton and Catherine Hunter, of Saint John; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Verne (Watling) Dickson, in 2000; one brother, Dallas Dickson.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., with visiting on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Wayne Hutchinson, Clinton Jacques and Gladys Dickson. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
