The death occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, N.S., of P.H. O'Leary Curley, age 101 years.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Keefe); loving father of Angela Boyd (Jim), John (Sharron), Michael (deceased), Bill (Gail), Kathy and Gerard, and daughter-in-law, Mary Schlosser. O'Leary will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Kevin (Denise), Colin (Jenny), Christie (Andrew), Sean (Junko), Matthew (Lauren), Andrew (Krista), Brendan and Emily; and by his great-grandchildren, Lucy, Sam, Julia, Lucas, John, Adelaide, Cormac, Theo and Makayla. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Kathleen Murphy, Bine Bourque, Mary Keefe (Earl) and Hermine Keefe; and by many special nieces, nephews and friends.
O'Leary was born in Brookvale, P.E.I., on April 25, 1913 to John and Mary Ann (nee McDonald). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Minnie, Lena and Minerva; and brothers, Wilfred, Owen, Mark, Maurice, Amos, Bill and Clarence. O'Leary was wise and gentle, witty and generous, and his love was unconditional. Go with God, Dad. You are home. We love you.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, P.E.I., for visitation on Friday, January 30, 2015, from 4 to7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kelly's Cross, on Saturday, January 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
