DAVIS, SVANHILD "SWANIE"
It is with sadness, the family of Svanhild “Swanie” Davis, age 95, announces her death, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, on January 30, 2015. The wife of the late Fraser Davis, of Hatfield Point NB, Swanie was born on September 11, 1919 in Øysletta, Norway, the daughter of the late Håkon and Olise (Skjelbred) Thorsen (Toresen).
Swanie is survived by her children, Ron Davis and Beth (Rick) Reicker both of Hatfield Point; grandchildren: Matt (Angela) Guptill, Rory (Tanya) Reicker and Ryan (Laura) Reicker; great-grandchildren: Megan, Owen, Ethan, Ayda, Macey Guptill and Austin and Hailey Reicker; sister-in-law, Ina Thorsen; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Swanie was predeceased by her brother, Jurne Thorsen.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton with visitation on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Dwight Cole, will be held from Outreach Pentecostal Church, Hatfield Point, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 4 2015. Interment will take place in the spring at Bayview Cemetery, Hatfield Point.
Donations in memory of Swanie may be made to the Bayview Cemetery, Kiwanis Nursing Home, the Alzheimer’s Society, or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
