Rector, Wallace D. – 74, of Apple River, Cumberland County passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Hubert and Ada (Parker) Rector. He was a retired lumberman. He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Hirtle; a daughter, Kim MacLellan (Tom), Apple River; a son, Bernard (Shelley), Clarence, Annapolis Co.; granddaughters, Kerstyn MacLellan, Apple River; Crystal Rector, Amherst; a brother, Harold (Myrna), Summerside, PEI; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia; a brother, Johnny. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Apple River Baptist Church, Pastor Douglas Lake officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Apple River Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
