It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of husband, father, and grandfather, Ernest (Ernie) Victor Jones, on Wednesday, February 4th, 2015, at his residence in Ourimbah, Australia, in his 79th year, with loving family at his side.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jones (nee Tattrie), of 37 years, and children, Linda, Christopher, Alison, Matthew, Kelly and Jamie. Adored grandfather of Adam, Joanna, Aiden, Kai, Jake, Katrina and Harrison. Ernie and Sandra moved to Cornwall, P.E.I., from Brampton, Ontario, to manage a small chain of grocery stores (Central Farmers Co-op) in the early 80s and retired in 1997. During that time, he had developed a group of supportive and loving friends who shared many a “Friday night” at the Jones’s residence.
Following Ernie’s wishes, a private service and reception will be held on February 10th at Palmdale Memorial Cemetery, Palmdale NSW Australia. Further arrangements for Celebration of his life on P.E.I. will be scheduled at a later date.
Ernie had a soft spot for dogs and requests that donations are made to the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in lieu of flowers.
