It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend, Catherine 'Kitty' MacIntosh, on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines, Kitty was a daughter of the late John and Annie (MacKinnon) MacKinnon.
In her earlier years she was employed at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto and also for Sears. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #19, Ladies Auxiliary.
Kitty is survived her daughter Robin MacDonald, North Sydney; her sons, Hugh MacDonald and Larry MacIntosh, Toronto, also by her three grandchildren, Allegra MacDonald, MacKenzie and Kaitlin MacIntosh, also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Kitty was predeceased by husbands, Hugh MacDonald and Anthony MacIntosh, sisters, Marie, Henrietta, Karen, Isabel, Sadie, Marcella and brothers, John, Freeman.
Visitation for Kitty will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
