John James MacLean

John James MacLean passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2015, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney River.
Born on Feb. 28, 1930 in Sydney Mines, he was the only son of the late Michael 'Mickey' and Johannah (Weir) MacLean.
John is survived by his wife, Sheila (Wynn) MacLean, formerly from Sydney; daughters, Sasha, Sydney Mines, Donna, B.C., Peggy, B.C.; sons, John (Kate), Ontario, William (Tiffany), Winnipeg, Trevor (Andrea), Ontario; stepchildren, Darlene (Allan) Cantwell, Bras d'Or, George (Lynn) Young, North Sydney, Wanda (Stan) Williams, Sydney; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first born son, William; daughter, Marla; wives, Margie and Betty.
As per John's request cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A celebration of John's life will be held Monday, Feb. 16th at 2 p.m. at St. Giles Church, Campbell Street, North Sydney.
Memorial donations in John's memory may be made to the Prostate Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of ones choice.
