Audrey L. Bates. Age 83, of Halifax, and formerly of Parrsboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at The Sagewood, Lower Sackville with her family by her side. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Harold “Skip” and Alice (Sherman) Yorke. Married at 15 to her beloved Frank, she spent most of her early life living in Ontario, where she raised two sons. When life brought them home to Nova Scotia, they remained in Dartmouth until Frank's retirement. They became “snowbirds” for the next ten years with Parrsboro as their home base. Audrey is survived by her sons, Frank, Jr. (Susan), Masham, Que.; Jeffrey (Sheila), Halfway River; grandchildren, John, Kim, Joy and Barry; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Mitchell, Truro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; a sister Peggy; a brother, Harold, Jr. “Skip”. A graveside service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Parrsboro at a later date.
