Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on the Jan. 19, 2015, Mr. Thomas Penney of Cook's Harbour in his 82nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Violet (Garry), Walter (Linda), and Gorden; grandchildren Vanessa, Jonathon, Jordan (Jessica), Sheila, and Wilson; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Jada; sister Rosie; brother Elam (Margarite); brother-in-law Warrick; special friends Gerald Elliott, Wayne Pittman, and Alex Smith as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Susie, sister Hazel, brother-in-law John, parents Albert Edward Penney and Elizabeth Stevens. Visitation was held at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22 with Rev. Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
