Passed peacefully away at the Callingwood Downs Seniors Complex Clarke's Beach on February 14, 2015 Mavis Louise Pike (Bowering) of Bay Roberts aged 83 years. Mavis was an accomplished curler and skater. She was a prankster that enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends. The love of her life her husband "Cliff" who she joined with on Valentine's Day, often reminisced of her driving of the "Newfie Bullet" on their honeymoon. Predeceased by parents Edgar and Nellie Bowering; husband Clifford Pike; son-in-law Berrick Williams; sisters: Clarice (William) Saunders, Dorothy (Jack) French, Olive (Bert) Ryan; brothers: Ted, Herbert (Beryl), Reginald (Olivera), Harvey, brother-in-law: Allen Mercer. Leaving to mourn: daughters: Sharon Williams, Debra (Andy) Castle; sons: Randy (Josie) Pike, Rodney (Carol Sullivan) Pike; sister: Beulah; sisters-in-law: Ethel Bowering, Verna Bowering; Grandchildren: David, Kevin, Angela, Amanda, Yvonne, Jon, Helen and Adam, Great-Grandchildren: Kyle, Karlene, Mayce, Leah, Conner, Emily, Eve and Caél. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday February 16, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place from Grace United Church, Coley's Point on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Grace United Cemetery, Coley's Point. Flowers respectfully accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mavis' memory to Canadian Cancer Society, home of Daffodil Place.
