MAHER, Bernice R.N. (nee Hillier) Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2009, after a brief illness, Bernice Maher. Predeceased by father Charles Hillier, infant sister Judith, and father and mother-in-law Mary and William Maher. Bernice leaves to mourn her loving husband Loyola, daughter Susan (Greg Legge), and adored grandchildren Emily and Dara of Kingston, Ontario and son Michael and wife Robin of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bernice also leaves to mourn her mother Irene Hillier, sister Sandra (Dave Pike) and niece Kimberley and nephew Jonathan, brother Garry (Selina Careen) of Calgary, Alberta; sisters-in-law Loretta (Shaun Dobbin), Margaret-Anne (Tom Jackson) and brother-in-law Jim Maher (Jacqueline Turner) and their children and spouses Karolyn Dobbin (Chris Walker), Karen Dobbin (Greg Williams), Colleen Dobbin (Michael Gambin), William Eaton (Shu Min), Jeremy Eaton, Sarah Eaton and Emily Eaton, David, Kevin, and Ellen Maher. Bernice also leaves a large circle of relatives and friends from her years of nursing and work in health care and education. Special thank -you to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre for their professional and gentle care of Bernice. Cremation has already taken place at Bernice’s request. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, January 18 and Monday, January 19 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 20th at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi. Private inurnment at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations in Bernice’s memory may be made to Daffodil Place.
