GALLANT, RACHEL
Rachel Gallant, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB. Born in Havre-Aubert, Îles-de-la-Madeleine, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and the late Marie-Louise (née: Sullivan) Gallant.
Mrs. Gallant was a nurse at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital; a teacher at l’École Providence and Director of the Blanche Bourgeois Unit of the Extra Mural Program. In her leisure she enjoyed Petit Point and volunteering her time to several causes. She was member of the Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe and Saint-Anselme parish.
She is survived by two sons: Jean Bourgeois (Donna LeBlanc) of Riverview and André Bourgeois of Montréal, QC; two sisters: Jacqueline (late Wendell) Chiasson of Cap-aux-Meules, Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Denise Gallant (Rhéal Brunet) of Magog, QC; one brother, Paul Gallant (Fernande Deveau) of Cap-aux-Meules, Îles-de-la-Madeleine, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Armand Bourgeois in 2008; one sister, Pauline, as well as one brother, André.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 11 am.
Donations to Maison Nazareth would be appreciated by the family.
