OATES, Thomas – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by parents John and Mary Oates, brothers; Bill, John and Bob, sisters Cecilia Fennelly, Gertrude Devine and Annie Santangelo. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories are his wife of 50 years, Lena, his children; Barry Oates (Marilyn), Beverly Clowe (Carl), Pamela Power (Gerard), Maxine Clowe (Don), Tara Kavanagh (Terence), Tommy Oates. Grandchildren; Lorna Coady (Jamie), Stephen, Melanie, Melissa, Matthew, Chelsea, Justin, Jason, Sheldon (Sue-Ann), Shane (Billy-Lynn), Shavonne (Kevin), Amanda (Robert), Adam and Andrew. Great-grandchildren Zachary O’ Brien and Kylee Coady. Also leaving to mourn two sisters; Marie Coady and Dot Hurley (Jim), three brothers; Ronald Oates (Gladys), Charlie Oates (Dorothy) and Edmund Oates (Yvonne); sister-in-law Irene Oates and brother-in-law Mike Devine. As well a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, special friends Jim Brophy, Aggie and Ray Kenny. Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Visitation on Friday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral service to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Fermeuse, Sunday, January 18th at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Fermeuse.
