It is with saddened hearts that we the announce the passing of Virginia Ruth Stevens, on Feb.17, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in the Magdalen Islands, she was the daughter of the late Cameron and Eileen Clarke.
Ruth worked at Highland Fisheries for a number of years, she enjoyed coin collecting as well as crocheting and many other crafts.
Ruth is survived by husband, Gordon Vickers; daughter, Loretta Stevens; son, Claude (Leanne) King; grandchildren, Christine, Rylan, Nathan, Madelyn; sisters, Connie (Leonard), Donna (Edgar), Della (Tony), Muriel, Pauline (Cyrice), Norma Jean, Benita, Denise (Laurent), Paula, Jacquline (Dino); brothers, Laurie (Patricia), Daniel (Adelina), Benny (Louisette), Paul (Tena), Lennie (Lorriane) and many nieces and nephews.
Besides parents, Ruth was predeceased by son, Andrew.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 21, 3 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating.
