Norma Wood
Norma Jean (Hudson) Wood, 89 years plus 1 day of Westville, passed on Feb. 21, 2015 in Ivy Terrace.
Norma was the wife of the late John Wood.
Born in Victoria Beach, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Melbourne and Nellie (Halliday) Hudson.
She is survived by her daughter Rosemary (Simon) deBest, Westville; son Gary (Ruth), Lower Sackville; grandsons Richard and Mark Levy, Calgary, Alta.; Jonathan (Danielle) Wood, Lower Sackville; Andrew (Rocio) Wood, Toronto, Ont.; great grandson Justin Levy, Calgary, Alta.; great grand daughter Zoey Wood, Lower Sackville; sister Myrtle, Ont.; brothers Melbourne (Jr), Victoria Beach; Milton, Port Wade; Maxwell, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Rose and Nellie, and brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Edward, Wallace, Gordon, and Ted.
Before glaucoma destroyed her eyesight, Mom enjoyed sewing, knitting, and reading.
She was often seen doing her daily walks around the neighbourhood.
Many years ago, Mom and Dad danced with the Trenton Twirlers.
Although Mom did not enjoy cooking, she made the best chocolate chip cookies.
She travelled throughout the Maritime provinces, Quebec, a few American States and as far as the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
She enjoyed her travels by car, bus, boat, train, and airplane.
Her working life involved Clairtone, Royal Typewriter, and Wear Well Garments.
Cremations to take place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.
Following Mom’s instructions, there will be no visitations or public funeral service. A private family burial service will be held at a later date at the Auburn Cemetery.
