CORWIN POPE
March 1, 1928 – February 21, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Corwin Pope announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 86 years. He was the last surviving child of the late Randell & Bertha Pope of Stone's Cove Fortune Bay, NL. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Aaron & Alice Miles, infant son Carl, brothers George, Wallace (Mildred), Leo, Gerald, Lawrence (Emma), Bernie, sisters Olive (George) Tibbo and Gladys (Clifford) Osmond, brothers-in-law Fred (Mary) Miles, and Reginald Miles, and sisters-in-law Ellen Miles and Abigail (Edgar) Price. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mary of 62 years, children Barry (Daisy) Pope Burnt Islands, Bub (Elizabeth) Pope Pollard's Point, Sherry (Lorne) Keeping Burnt Islands, Marilyn Pope Port aux Basques, Cathy (Ted) Dale Port aux Basques, Lloyd (Gaynia) Pope Halifax NS, Cynthia Pope Marystown, and Dwayne Pope Halifax NS, grandchildren Colleen (Derek) Hatcher, Jeremy (Leeann) Pope, Vaughn Keeping, Sherry Bryan, Aimee Brown, Jamie Keeping, Darren (Daele) Keeping, Michael Gillam, Mark (Cindy) Gillam, Kyle Prinoski, Scott Prinoski, Trevor Prinoski, Connor Pope and Brayden Pope, great grandchildren Jordin Hatcher, Colby Hatcher, Chantel Keeping, Scotlin Keeping, Nate Bryan, and Eric Brown, sisters-in-law Maisie Dominaux St. John's, Olive Pope Marystown, and Hazel Pope Port aux Basques, brothers-in-law Joseph (Mary) Miles Mulgrave NS, Hubert Miles Dartmouth NS, and Lloyd Miles Mulgrave NS and sisters-in-law Dorothy (George) Harding Dartmouth NS, and Bertha (Lewis) Jamieson Mulgrave NS plus a large circle of nephews and nieces with whom he had a special relationship and many, many special friends and other relatives. Visitation took place on Sunday, February 22 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Monday, February 23 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM from East Haven Funeral Home Inc.. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, February 24 at 2:00 PM from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Clayton Billard officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. James Cemetery Fund.
