Eileen Sinclair, born April 23, 1920 in Kingston, after a full and joyous long life, died peacefully at KGH on Friday, February 27, 2015 with her son Douglas by her side. Beloved wife of the late R. Malcolm Sinclair (m.1943). Youngest child of the late Charles and Gertrude Anglin. Dear sister of the late Doris G. Anglin and the late Harold Anglin (Jean). Cherished mother of Robert M. Sinclair Q.C. (Cathy), Douglas G. Sinclair (Brenda and the late Chrissie), Carol Watters (Rob) and the late Nancy E. (Staveley) Neill. Grandmother of Andrew and Ian Sinclair, Mark and Jill Staveley, and Melissa McKay and Kaitlin Watters. Great Grandmother of Brigid Staveley, Ava & Jane Sinclair, Charlie & Meara Watson, Aiden Sinclair, and Ambrosia Purchase. Eileen graduated from Queen's University in 1940, and went on to Kingston Business College. After working at the Royal Bank of Canada and Alcan, she joined the S. Anglin Company's Board of Directors (1964) to eventually become the 7th President and first female in a line of Anglins to head the business (1993). An active lifetime member of Sydenham Street United Church, proud Cataraqui Golf & Country Club member and outstanding volunteer within her community. Eileen was presented a 25-year service recognition pin from Ongwanada in 2001, and made Honorary Life Governor of their Board in 2008. The family will receive friends at the ROBERT J. REID & SONS FUNERAL HOME, "The Chapel on the Corner" 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street) Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. and at Sydenham Street United Church Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. A celebration of Eileen's life will follow at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Memorial Fund of Sydenham Street United Church would be appreciated by the family.
