Margaret Mary Theresa (MacNeil) Shaw passed away at the age of 88 on March 1, 2015.
Born and raised in Christmas Island, she was the youngest daughter of the late Annie and Hector J. MacNeil. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a woman known for her great wit, love of her family and Gaelic culture. She was a member of the Grandona Legion, Branch 124.
Survived by her children: John (Maria), Hector (Eileen), Christine, Gilbert (Angie), Malcolm (Sheila), Connie, David, Mark (Lisa), Alex (Julie); Brother-in-law, Joe MacLean, 20 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Gilbert (1995); son-in-law, Chuck; sisters, Mary, Kaye, Tena, Cee, Jean, Helena; brothers, Hughie and Johnnie.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. in St. Barra’s Parish Church, Christmas Island with funeral to follow, on Friday, March 6, 2015, Fr. Joe Ambrose MacNeil officiating. Reception to follow at the Christmas Island Fire Hall.
Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Barra’s Cemetery Fund or the Christmas Island Fire Department.
