Darling, no more pain, no more fear, no more confusion and frustration. Thank God it is over and you are at peace.
Phyllis passed away peacefully with her husband and all of her children at her bedside. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her loving family; husband Harold, daughters Catherine (Larry), Valerie, Lisa, Lynda (Mike) and son Mark, grandchildren Margot, Emily, Claire, Carley, great-grandchild Georgia, sisters Joyce McMillen, Patricia Baldrey, Anne Bolton and brother Allan Nichols (Jo-Anne).
Phyllis was very athletic and was an excellent competitive skier until the job of raising five children interrupted her skiing passion. When the children became independent she participated in Masters Ski Racing for many years. In 1993, she was the Canadian qualified for the International Masters Final Ski Competition at Whistler Mountain. She won the gold medal in giant slalom, competing against the best skiers in the world in her age category. She was awarded the trophy as the top woman skier in Canada.
After retirement to Sechelt, Phyllis took up golf and made many new and wonderful friends. Phyllis was never idle. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Her pies were legendary. She was a warm, friendly, affectionate woman who was never critical of, or spoke badly of, anyone in her life. All who knew her, loved her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shorncliffe and Garden View for their excellent care, love and compassion for Mom over the last few years. We are forever grateful.
