At her late residence on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, with her family by her side, of Dorothy Jennie (Jean) Matthews, beloved wife of Raeburn Matthews of Northport, age 72 years.
Born on June 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Beatrice (nee Wells) Brown.
Loving mother to Troy Matthews of Northport; Pam (John) Murphy of Bolton, ON; Todd Matthews of Northport; Bev Matthews-Yorke, of Summerside; Barb (Steve) Basso of Charlottetown; and Amy Matthews of Northport. Cherished grandmother to Samantha Basso, Emily Matthews, Thomas Basso and Olivia Yorke. She is also survived by her siblings: Lois (Wendell) Smallman of O'Leary; Barb MacEwan of Riverview, N.B.; Susan (Roger) Bevan of Charlottetown; and Roger Brown of Charlottetown; and by half-siblings: Ruth (Herb) Dalgarno of Calgary and Ferne (Donald) Currie of Summerside. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Daisie Matthews of Ontario and Arlene Brown of Alberta.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. No visitation by personal request. Funeral Sunday afternoon from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, at 2 p.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment later in Hillcrest Cemetery, Alberton.
