TOOMEY, DONALD JOHN
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Donald John Toomey of Quispamsis, husband of Katherine V. M (Nickerson) Toomey on March 6, 2015.

Born in Kentville N.S. on January 2, 1933 he was the son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Amirault) Toomey. Don worked for Dominion Atlantic and Canadian Pacific Railways for 39 years in Nova Scotia and Saint John as a Train Dispatcher. Don was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church and served as a Trustee for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife Katherine and two daughters; Debra Sullivan (John Hyndman) of Halifax and Sherry Arsenault (Donald) of Rothesay; two granddaughters; Natasha Arsenault-Longo (Anthony) of Arlington, Massachusetts and Christine Josey(Mark) of Ponte Vedra, Florida; four great grandchildren; Ayden, Julia, Elana and Paxton; one sister Frances Tivy of Surrey, B.C. and one brother Ray Toomey of Bridgewater, N.S. Donald was predeceased by his parents and a sister Marie Deveau.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday , March 9, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Don’s Celebration of Life will be held at Fundamental Baptist Church, 1170 Sand Cove Road, Saint John on Tuesday, March 10th, at 11:00 a.m.  followed by interment at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery.
