Laggan, Pictou County; Jane Marion Horton, age 73, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow and formerly of Laggan, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Glen Haven Manor, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Finlay and Annie (Gillis) Blair.
Jane was a resident of Laggan for most of her life.
During her working years, she was employed with the Telephone Company, Glen Haven Manor and the Riverview Home.
She was a member of the Barney’s River Presbyterian Church and was active in her community.
Jane enjoyed playing cards and camping.
The greatest joy in Jane’s life was being able to spend time with her family.
Surviving are: son Bill Horton (Emily) of Little Harbour;
Twin daughters: Jeanne (David) Moses of Grand Manan;
Jennifer (Colin) Stewart of Halifax;
Grandchildren: Lagan, Lance and Katelyn
Sisters: Margaret Gillis of Antigonish;
Betty McDougall of Blue Mountain;
Mary Greene of New Glasgow;
Brother-in-law Kenneth (Peggy) Horton of Eureka;
Several nieces and nephews.
Jane was predeceased by her husband William (Bill).
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lorne MacLeod officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in the Laggan Cemetery.
Family flowers only please.
Donations in memory of Jane may be made to the Laggan Cemetery.
A reception will follow the service in the funeral home.
