IRMA J. JAMONT

IRMA J. JAMONT

March 21, 1944 - January 13, 2015
Irma passed away in her beloved San Isidro, Costa Rica on January 13. Born in Carrot River Saskatchewan, she was the fourth child of Louis and Josie Jamont. Irma is survived by children Byron (April) and Kirsten, and grandchildren Mahyar, Siena, Chiara, Tanner and Oscar. Irma's surviving brothers and sisters are Laurie (Valarie), Norman (Karen), Agnes, Margaret and Yvonne (Gerald) along with numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her partner Frank Shore, her parents and brother Ken.
The Jamont family moved to Langley BC in 1948 and Irma graduated from Langley Secondary. She lived in Prince Rupert, the Lower Mainland and for 25+ years on the Sunshine Coast. In their retirement Irma and Frank spent winters in Costa Rica on their hobby farm. Although Irma experienced numerous health challenges, she never complained, nor expressed self-pity; she accepted what life offered and got on with it. Irma enjoyed gardening, especially raising tropical flowers and orchids in her greenhouse. Passionate about leaving the smallest footprint possible on our planet, she was a pioneer in recycling and sustainable living. But her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren and her sibling's children and grandchildren; all were drawn to her.
The family would like to express gratitude to Irma`s many friends who steadfastly supported her, especially during the last year. A memorial service will be held in July 2015. In lieu of flowers kindly donate to the SPCA.
