1934 - 2015
Cocagne, NB – Hélène Surette, 81, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 13th, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Born in Côte Sainte-Anne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Owen and the late Marie-Anne Newcomb (nee Richard).
Héléne will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Francine DesRoches (Maurille) of Cocagne, Joanne Allain (Raoul) of Ste-Marie, Maria Surette (Yvette Doiron) of Grande-Digue; by her three sons, Gilles (Simonne Hébert) of Bouctouche, Charles (Bernice Maillet) of Cocagne, Émerie (Gisèle) of Notre-Dame; by her sister, Mildred Goguen of Cocagne; by her two step-sister, Lorraine MacAnnish (DeWayne) of Cooperstown, PA, USA, Annette Rousselle (Florent) of Québec; by her three brothers, Frank Newcomb (Odila) of Cocagne, John Newcomb (Bernice) of Rexton, Christin Richard (Albertine) of Richibouctou-Village; by her three step-brother, Paul Colette of Dieppe, Émerie Collette of Cocagne, Régis Collette (Rose-Marie) of McKees Mills; by her sister-in-law, Loretta Déprès of Cocagne; by her eleven grandchildren; by her ten great-grandchildren; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Aristide Surette (2002).
Visitations will be at St. Pierre-de-Cocagne Slumber Room, 2000 Route 535, Cocagne, NB on Thursday, March 19th, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and from 7:00 to 9:00pm and on Friday, March, 20th, 2015 from 9:30am till the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Pierre-de-Cocagne Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne, NB, on Friday, March 20th, 2015 at 11:00am.
