Benjamin Scott Marshall, of Flatrock, Newfoundland, passed away peacefully at The White Eagle Residence, his recent home in Toronto, on Tuesday March 3rd, 2015. After a courageous battle with congestive heart failure, Ben's last day was spent in good spirit and humour. Ben was born to Harold and Mae (Powers) Marshall on August 12th, 1934. The third eldest of 10 children, Ben was a beloved brother to Calvin (Rowena), Myrtle (Paul Barr), Vida (Donald McMillan), Florence (Ken Hearn), Kurt (Marie), Jim (Carolyn), Helene (Dave Drodge), Russell (Marlane) and Chester (Shirley). Ben proudly served as a weapons technician in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1952 to 1973. He was discharged in Angus, Ontario to become happily self-employed in piano tuning and furniture repair for the rest of his career in Barrie, Ontario. Ben is survived by his first wife Evelena and their beloved children Scott (Mary), Deborah (Jean Robitaille), Sharon (Dan Simoneau), Gary (Heather), and Geoffrey. Ben survived his second wife Sharon who passed away in 1991 leaving behind their beloved children James (Antrina) and Nancy (Oleg Stavrovsky). Finally, Ben is survived by his wife Jessie Marshall and many beloved stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Ben received excellent care from St. Joseph's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to www.foundation.stjoe.on.ca/.
