Thursday, March 13, 2008. After a life's journey of 58 years he died suddenly in Calgary, Alberta. Douglas was born in St. John's, N.L. on the 7th of July 1949. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret Evans and son Douglas Evans Junior. He leaves behind his wife Lyn and daughter Catherine of Calgary; daughters: Donna and Leanne; son Ryan and nine grandchildren, all of St. John's N.L. Sadly missed by sisters: Allison (Blake), Brenda (Dave) and brothers: Robert (Sheila) and Patrick. Survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place in Calgary and his ashes will go home to Nfld. as he wished. A service will be held at the grave site at a later date. Pleasant journey Douglas, my brother, I will love you to the end, Allison. And may God have mercy on your soul. Expect and accept change in a world they see as transitory. The realization of impermanence is paradoxically the only lasting possession.
