The death occurred peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015 of Doris Marie Gaudet (nee Doucette), of Maplewood Manor, Alberton and formerly of Pleasant View, P.E.I., aged 78 years.
She was born in Pleasant View on March 23, 1936, the daughter of the late Leo J. and Josephine (Poirier) Doucette. Loving mother to Vincent Doucette, Kensington, Marie (Robert) Pitre, Kildare, Stanley (Donna) Gaudet, St. Felix, Earl (Juanita) Gaudet, Murray River, and daughter by choice, Arlene (Barry) Morrison, Alberton. Cherished grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Left to mourn are her partner, Emmanuel (Mano) Richard and his children; sisters, Rita Perry, Dorothy Bernard, Gladys Gorrill (Bill Berry), Dianne (Victor) Hogan, Marlene (Ron) Stuart; brothers, Leo (Doris) Doucette, Victor Doucette; and sister-in-law, Theresa Doucette.
She was predeceased by husband, Emile; infant daughter, Marie; parents, Leo and Josephine; brother, Henry; brothers-in-law, Louis Perry, Omer Bernard and Lloyd Gorrill.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday, March 21, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Church Repair Fund would be greatly appreciated. Palmer Road CWL will hold a prayer service Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
