With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Gordon Billard on Saturday, March 21, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney on Jan. 15, 1967, Ron was the son of Joyce (Brown) Billard and the late Gordon Billard. Ron loved the outdoor life whether it was hunting or fishing, especially on the Margaree River. He was an avid gardener and his vegetables were enjoyed by all, which gave him such pride.
Ron is survived by his loving mother Joyce, his companion and best friend, Kimberly Jones, the center of his world, whom he was so proud of, his two sons, Jonathan and Matthew, and his brother, Darrell Billard. Also left to mourn are Ron’s aunts, uncles and cousins, whom he cherished and who cherished him.
He will also be missed by his “Little Texas Hold’Em” family, Scott Thomas, Tom Patey, Hartley LaFosse, Jude Robinson, Claude Denny, Joe King and Benny Aulenback. He will also be missed by his everyday friend, Stewart Ashford and old friend, Terry Peters in Seattle, Washington.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Gordon Billard; his maternal grandparents, John and Amelia Brown; paternal grandparents, John and Marjorie Billard and his cousin Elizabeth Leyte.
