She was born on October 29, 1920 in Polegate, Sussex Co., England, daughter of Ethel and Percy Staplehurst.
When the war ended, she came to Canada as a war bride along with her first born child, Barry. Later on in her life she worked at the Kmart and retired from the cafeteria department in 1985. She was a member of the Recycled Teenagers Senior group and enjoyed going on numerous bus trips and bowling with her friends, frequently visiting Myrtle Beach and South Carolina. She was a member of the Randolph Community Centre. She also enjoyed attending card games and bowling with her dear friend, Gladys Williams.
She always enjoyed having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren visit her daily.
Mom was a very proud mother to nine children, Barry, Keith (Marie), Sharron (Bob Burris), Sheila (Robert Parent), Susan, David (Cathy), Joy (Tony Olsen), Peter, Paul (Sonia), and her special canine friend Molly, who was true to her to the end. Over the years as her family grew and married, she was also a grandmother to sixteen, a great-grandmother to fifteen and a great-great-grandmother to four.
She was predeceased by her husband Guy, son Barry, daughters Sheila and Joy, her parents and one brother.
