McNeil, Michael Edward “Mickey”, age 77, of Lockhartville, Kings County, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at his home. Born on July 25, 1937, in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Lela (Starratt) McNeil. Mickey was a well-known diesel mechanic, owning and operating Avon Crane & Diesel of Lockhartville. Mickey is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Shirley Keddy; sons, Craig (Tracey), Lockhartville; Michael (Leisa) New Minas; daughters, Connie (Gary) MacNeil, Lockhartville; Marcia Eyre, Kentville; Wendy (Ralph) Hayden, Coldbrook; Sheryl (Paolo) LaGrotteria, St. Catharines, Ont.; Shawna (Kendall) Morse, Berwick; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; brother, Donnie (Louise), Hantsport; sister, Mary Cashin, Fredericton, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Daniel “Danny”; brother, Jack; sister, Anna Poirier. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, (902-798-2232), 2194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. A service of remembrance was 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, in the Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Marshall Schofield presided. Interment will be held at a later date.
