Peacefully at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge in Eldon on Thursday, January 22, 2009, of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mae MacLean (nee Buell) of Murray River, age 93 years. Wife of the late Leonard MacLean of Murray River. Daughter of the late Simon and Catherine Buell. Dear Mother of Chester (Anne), Summerside; Vernon (Joan), Victoria, B.C.; Emily (Rankin) Keenan, Murray River; Jerry (Cecille), Charlottetown; and mother-in-law of Franklin Whiteway. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granchildren. Survived by sisters Emily Hume, Orilla, Ont.; Ethel Ross, Charlottetown; Charlotte (Jackie) MacLeod, London, Ont.; Doreen MacLeod, Murray Harbour; Dorothy (Alden) Hyde, Bel Aire, Marilyn, U.S.A., and brother Leon (Kay) Buell, Montague. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Arnett MacLean, and daughter Marion Whiteway, grandsons Glenn and Keith MacLean and by her brothers Herman, Dan, Clayton, Garnet and sister Sadie MacLean. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in the Murray River Cemetery.
