HAMILTON, MARION LEONA
With heavy hearts, the family of Marion Leona Hamilton, loving wife of the late Allen Hamilton announce her peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Born in Saint John on December 21, 1931, she was the daughter of Thaddeus and Hazel (Waters) Merritt.
Mom loved reading, gardening, cooking, making quilts and listening to music, however her greatest joy was spending time with family, friends and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her sons; Allen (Joanne), Leo (Brenda) and Richard (Ruth) of Edmonton, AB; James and Thomas (Cathy) of Saint John, NB; and Calvin (Debbie) of Grand Lake, NB; daughters Sandra of Saint John and Marion of London, ON; brothers Arthur Merritt of Edmonton, AB and Kenny Bradley of Saint John, NB; sisters Valerie Martin and Carolyn (Peter) Whitebone of Saint John, NB; and sister-in-law Phyllis Brown of Saint John, NB. 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Marion was predeceased by her two brothers Edward, James and Harry and her sister Hazel.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Marion’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
The Hamilton family would like to thank the doctors and staff of 4CN and the doctors and staff of 3BN Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care and compassion they have shown our mother during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Children’s or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
