NEW GLASGOW - Lawrence “Red” Urquhart, age 85, of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Munroe Ave., New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Manor.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late George and Georgina (Betts) Urquhart. He was a retired baker having worked in various bakeries during his career. Red was a quiet family man who enjoyed spending time with them camping, travelling, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Bobby) Fennell, New Glasgow; son Ron (Tracey Williams), New Glasgow; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Margaret “Peg” (Gordon); one sister and several brothers. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with Mr. Fergie MacKay officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
