We, the family of Daniel Joseph Kennedy, 69, of Melwood Drive, Westmount, wish to announce his passing on Monday, May 25, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Saint John, N.B., on July 25, 1945, he was a son of the late James and Beatrice (McCormick) Kennedy.
Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Linda (King); sisters, Lillian Kennedy, Maces Bay, N.B., Mary (Shuski) Minami, Mount Vernon, NH and Julia (David) Byers, Sackville, N.B.; brothers, Paul (Judy), Riverview, N.B., Leo, Moncton, N.B. and Michael (Shelley), Nerapis, N.B.; sister-in-law, Debbie (Robert) Coleman, Sydney; niece, Shannon Coleman; several nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew; his puppy, Darby, his faithful and loving companion.
Daniel was predeceased by his sister, Alice, in infancy.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 29th from 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mr. Robert Coleman officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the An Cala Unit (palliative care) at the CBRH or the Cape Breton Chamber Orchestra.
