SCHAEFER, ROBERT VERNON "BOB"
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Schaefer announce his passing on May 27, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on December 14, 1944 in Minto, NB, he was the loving husband of Dianne “Cookie” (Lee) Schaefer and a son to the late Gerhardt Schaefer and Hazel (Foster) Delorey.
Bob was an outdoorsmen, an avid fisherman and hunter, he loved being at his camp and enjoyed nature. He was a jack of all trades with a very strong work ethic, working as a plumber and pipefitter with local 213 before retiring, and most recently worked with Killam Properties. His family and friends will surely miss his dry sense of humor.
Bob will be missed by his family, his daughters: Dr. Tanya Schaefer (Dr. Michael Hayden), Brenda (Robert) Burke, Christina Schaefer (Yves Parent), his son: Donald Schaefer, his grandchildren: Robert Schaefer, Jarett and Emilee Burke, Carlee Schaefer and great-grandchild Eric Schaefer, his siblings: Gloria Stever, Linda Delorey and Donald Delorey, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his grandchild Eric Burke, and siblings: Louise Schaefer, Gerry Schaefer and Loretta Flemming.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424), visitation will be held on Friday, May 29 from 7 to 9 only. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 11:30 am.
