1956 - 2015
Douglas Alden Yeo, 59, of Pine Glen, NB, went to glory on June 3, 2015, after a heroic battle with cancer. Doug was born in Tyne Valley, PEI, son of Alden and Leola (Howatt) Yeo.
Doug owned and operated his own Service Centre for many years in Pine Glen. He enjoyed hunting, going “on tour” with family and friends on their ATVs, and especially, camping on PEI. He loved stock car racing and drove the victory lap many times at River Glade Speedway. The high point of his racing career was having the opportunity to drive against his hero, Dale Ernhardt.
Besides Rhonda, his loving wife of 25 years, he is survived by his mother Leola Yeo of Prospect, NS; sister Joan (Ron) Cleaveley of Prospect, NS; grand-daughters Jessica and Kaitlyn Lane, grand-son Noah MacKnight, and his father Corey, and the children’s mother Rachael; brother-in-law Mike Power; sister-in-law Bev (John) Baxter; sister-in-law Kim (Dennis) Price; father-in-law Guy Power; nieces and nephews Mike, Jason (Sylvia), Nick and Becky (Derek); and his beloved four-legged friend, Princess.
He was predeceased by his father Alden Yeo, sister Linda Catherine Yeo, niece Tracy Blakeman and mother-in-law Jean Power.
Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road in Riverview (869-2007), from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, June 5, 2015. The service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tony Blair and Pastor Mitch Whittington officiating.
