It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Beaton, age 77, a resident of Mapleview Drive in North Sydney, on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Bras d’Or, he was the son of the late Roderick and Annie Beaton.
Harold spent many years sailing aboard numerous vessels on the Great Lakes until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors and walking with his pride and joy, Magdalene, whom he treated like a granddaughter.
Harold is survived by his loving friend, Agnes Walsh, North Sydney; by a son, Troy in Ontario and a sister, Mary in New Brunswick.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or, with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
