It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peter J. Duffy announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories his partner, Phylis Simms; son, Murray Duffy (Dale Bradbury); daughter, Coreena Lilly Barrett; grandchildren, Renee and Tyler; great-grandson, Elliot; step-daughter, Jennifer Arseneau (Pierre Luc); step-grandson, Vinal; step-grand-daughters, Daphne and Jessica; brothers, John (Jeanette), Don (Loretta), and Vince (Janet); sisters, Mercedes Compagnon and Alice Bennett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special mention to Pete's dog Maggie and his friends at the West Mount Club. He was predeceased by parents, John Duffy and Maude Bernard; brothers, Frank, Albert, and Laris (Manny); sisters, Doris and Marie; step-grandson, Dylan Bradbury and brothers-in-law, Anthony Compagnon and Pius Bennett. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday and Friday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Parish in Benoit's Cove with Father Don Leonard officiating. In keeping with Peter's wishes cremation will take place following funeral services. Interment will be held at the RC Cemetery in Benoit's Cove on Monday, June 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
