Our mom was a very quick witted woman, she could have a sarcastic response to most everything.
Her love of music, singing, and dancing was the one constant thread in Mom’s life. Mom loved to read, especially Louis L’Amour. As Mom would head to bed, she would say, “I have a date with Louis!”
Mom was a very classy, beautiful woman with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. The hours she would spend putting pin curls in her hair was unbelievable. Memories of helping Mom with her bobby pins will be forever ingrained in our mind and our hearts. Mom loved to have her hair brushed by her children. Whenever Mom was going out she would say, “I have to put on my face”, then she would put her makeup on.
Mom loved to fish and always said the best fishing was in the rain. Mom was a great cook and is especially remembered for her baking of bread and buns. Mom loved to play cards (solitaire), dice (Yahtzee), and bingo.
Mom would never have had to say “Remember me would ya”, because she will always be remembered forever with love!
June was survived by her children Chris Dahl (Flora), Curtis Dahl (Nellie),
Danny McIntyre (Tangerine), Sharon Riendeau (Moe), Patty Shaw (Ken), Junie Dorval (Yvon), and Twilla Petch; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dave Bjarnason.
A funeral service was held May 1, 2015 at Bergeron’s Funeral Chapel, Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of June may be made by donation to the British Columbia Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 2K2.
