Trudy was the youngest child of Lorenz and Martha Kroll, among four sisters and a brother. She was born in Nagelschmieden, Germany. Trudy came to Canada in 1954. She met Erich, her husband-to-be, in Vancouver and they married in Kitimat, B.C. in 1955. In 1967, Trudy and her family relocated to Gibsons, BC.
Trudy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Trudy was an avid gardener and loved animals. She also loved needlecraft and cooking. She had a very strong work ethic, which, combined with her selfless nature, meant that Trudy was never sitting down for long – always looking for someone to help and something to do.
Trudy was predeceased by her husband Erich, her brother Heinz, and her sister Irene. She is survived by her sisters Christa and Adelheid; sons Heinz (Wendy) and Eric (Ruth); grandchildren Tracey (Brian) McIntosh, and Lorenz Breu; great-grandchildren Spencer and Sydney McIntosh; nephew Gary Cutt (Binu); plus many nieces and nephews in Europe.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Berenstein, the nurses and staff at Totem Lodge; Binu and Liza for their four wonderful years of excellent homecare; George, Sita, Elina; and Casey, who was Trudy’s purr-fect companion at Totem.
